CC 지령 3 A 조건에서 전류가 3 A 수준으로 유지되었고, 부하를 1 A로 낮춘 경우 출력 전압은 110 V로 복귀되었다.

Distributed energy storage systems operate with multiple battery stacks connected in parallel to a common DC bus. Voltage and SOC deviations between stacks can cause circulating currents and current sharing imbalances. While stack circuit breaker-based protection systems are effective for fault current interruption, they have limitations in directly controlling power flow at the stack level during parallel operation. This paper proposes a bidirectional buck DC/DC converter structure and control method to simultaneously address stack-level power control and short-circuit protection in distributed ESS. The proposed structure reduces the number of components and circuit complexity by removing the intermediate capacitor and integrating the inductors into a single unit, compared to the conventional configuration of two buck converters connected in series. Furthermore, the circuit is designed such that the inductor current direction is determined by the voltage difference between the terminals, even under identical switching signal conditions applied to both terminals. This ensures power flow is directed only from the higher voltage terminal to the lower voltage terminal. The operation of the proposed circuit is categorized into inductor current increase mode and current decrease mode based on the switch combination. The proposed circuit distinguishes between inductor current increase and decrease operations according to the switch state, establishing the current control principle. It implements port current limiting and short-circuit protection through a drive method that ensures continuity of the current path. Short-circuit protection is configured to first activate hardware current limiting immediately after a fault occurs, followed by resetting the limiting current through a reduction in the duty cycle and software current limiting. Restart operation was tested to ensure the output voltage recovers to its reference value after the short-circuit is cleared. To validate the proposed structure and control method, a prototype was constructed and tested under constant current operation, load variation, startup, and short-circuit conditions. Under a CC command of 3 A, the current was maintained at approximately 3 A. When the load was reduced to 1 A, the output voltage returned to 110 V. During the short-circuit test, the load current exhibited a
