This study aimed to examine the effect of the educational service quality of airline cabin crew-related entrance examination institutes on the career preparation behaviors of high school students who hope to advance to university in related departments, and to investigate whether class satisfaction and career decision-making self-efficacy affect career preparation behaviors in this influence relationship.
To this end, a self-report survey was conducted with 250 current high school students or graduates attending airline cabin crew entrance examination institutes located nationwide, using scales on the institute’s educational service quality, class satisfaction, self-efficacy, and career preparation behavior, and finally 250 questionnaires were used for analysis.
The collected data were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS to calculate differences according to demographic characteristics, frequencies and percentages, and factor analysis, correlation analysis, structural path analysis, and, to verify mediating effects, bootstrapping analysis of the PROCESS Macro was performed.
Looking at the results of this study, 250 responses obtained by conducting the questionnaire online were analyzed.
For this, each variable of the entrance examination institute’s educational service quality, class satisfaction, career decision-making self-efficacy, and career preparation behavior was set, and the mediating effects of class satisfaction and career decision-making self-efficacy of airline cabin crew entrance examination institute students were to be examined.
Summarizing the main research results derived through analysis in this study.
First, it was found that the educational service quality of the airline cabin crew entrance examination institute secured statistical significance for the students’ class satisfaction,
Second, it was found that the effect of the educational service quality of the airline cabin crew entrance examination institute on the students’ career decision-making self-efficacy also secured statistical significance.
Third, it was found that the class satisfaction of airline cabin crew entrance examination institute students had a significant effect on students’ career information collection activities and career goal achievement activities.
Fourth, it was found that the career decision-making self-efficacy of airline cabin crew entrance examination institute students also had a positive effect on career information collection activities and career goal achievement activities.
Fifth, in the effect of educational service quality factors on career information collection activities and career goal achievement activities, the indirect effect of class satisfaction did not appear, but the indirect effect of career decision-making self-efficacy was confirmed to have statistical significance, and it was confirmed that there was a full mediation effect in the influence relationship between educational service quality and career information collection activities.
Based on service quality theory, this study is evaluated as having contributed to deriving basic information and implications necessary for securing the competitiveness of entrance examination institutes and for entrance examination institute marketing strategies by confirming the influence of educational service quality on class satisfaction and career decision-making self-efficacy by component, and it is judged that continuous follow-up research is needed to overcome the limitations of the study.
