Parking an articulated truck–trailer requires generating maneuvering trajectories that satisfy strong nonholonomic constraints, alternating forward–reverse motions, and rapidly varying turning radii induced by articulation. Conventional geometric planners and sampling-based methods struggle to represent these behaviors, while Reeds–Shepp (RS) paths provide only a high-level motion pattern that ignores articulated vehicle dynamics and lacks obstacle-awareness. To address these limitations, this paper proposes a Neural Trajectory Optimization (NTO) framework that refines an RS-initialized control sequence through differentiable articulated-vehicle dynamics and obstacle-based costs. The proposed method employs a neural network to generate incremental adjustments to the initial control sequence over the entire horizon, and the resulting trajectory is optimized via gradient descent using the final state of control signal integration with vehicle model. By preserving the structural guidance of RS motion primitives while enabling continuous adaptation, NTO effectively balances maneuver structure and feasibility. Experimental evaluations conducted in structured parking-lot scenarios demonstrate that the proposed framework consistently improves collision avoidance and articulation stability compared to RRT* baselines. In particular, NTO successfully generates complex reverse and T-shaped parking maneuvers that pose significant challenges for classical planners. The results demonstrate that combining RS structural priors with neural refinement yields a promising alternative to purely search-based or end-to-end learning approaches for articulated-vehicle parking.
