한국 현대사회에서 아트테이너의 역할과 저변 확대 필요성에 대한 연구 : 예술과 엔터테인먼트 융합을 통한 사회적 기여 가능성을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

한국 현대사회에서 아트테이너의 역할과 저변 확대 필요성에 대한 연구

본고는 ‘한국 현대사회에서 아트테이너의 역할과 저변 확대 필요성에 대한 연구’를 주제로 하여, 선행 연구 및 관련된 조사가 충분히 이루어지지 않은 ‘아트테이너’의 정체성에 대한 탐구와 이들의 사회적 영향에 대한 내용을 다룬다. 아티스트와 엔터테이너의 합성어인 아트테이너라는 개념이 어떠한 배경에서 탄생하게 되었고, 이들에 대한 연구가 현대 예술 시장에서 필요한 이유에 대해 알아본다. 여러 국내외 대표 아트테이너에 대한 사례를 조사하여 그들을 바라보는 사회적 견해와 시선을 살펴본다. 다양한 기사와 평론 글을 토대로 그들을 비판하는 이유와 근거는 무엇인지, 이들이 갖는 한계점을 중점적으로 분석하며, 아트테이너가 지속적으로 논란의 중심에 있는 이유를 밝히는 데에 초점을 둔다. 그리고 그러한 논란 속에서도 꾸준히 자신들의 위치에서 자신만의 예술을 하고자 하는 아트테이너의 동기와 목표 의식에 대해서도 추적하여 그들의 서사와 관점을 연구에 포함하고자 한다. 국내외 아트테이너를 비교, 분석하여 목적성이나 작업 양태에 따라 분류하고, 이를 통해 아트테이너 분야를 보다 세분화하고, 구체화한다. 이러한 기준을 제시함으로써 아트테이너에 대한 이해와 구분을 돕고, 아트테이너 개념의 정립을 통해 이들에 대한 사회적 인식 확장에 기여할 수 있는 토대를 마련한다. 그리고 가장 중요하게는 아트테이너의 사회적 영향에 대해 알아본다. 몇 가지 실험을 통해 그들의 유명세가 대중에게 어느 정도의 신뢰감을 주고, 의견 형성에 영향을 미치는지를 확인한다. 또한 아트테이너의 현 제도적 위치에 대해 언급하며, 이에 대한 정책적 측면을 함께 분석한다. 아트테이너의 활동을 격려하고, 장려하기 위해 필요한 제도적인 변혁과 그 이유에 대해 언급한다. 이에 더해 국내 대표 아트테이너인 박기웅과 윤송아 등 관계자의 인터뷰를 통해 아트테이너로서 느끼는 주변의 시선과 책임감, 또 사회적으로 어떠한 정책의 개선이 필요한지에 대한 답변을 듣고, 이를 최대한 본고에 담는다. 마지막으로 아트테이너의 사회적 역할과 기여 및 확장 가능성, 그리고 정책적인 제언을 증심으로 결론을 도출한다. 아트테이너에 대한 다양한 담론이나 언론 자료를 수집하여 여러 의견을 제시하고, 동시에 아트테이너 개념과 정체성에 대한 이해를 심화한다. 더 나아가 ‘아트테이너의 사회적 역할과 그 저변 확대를 통해 기대할 수 있는 사회적 효과’까지 탐구해보고자 한다.

Artainers in Contemporary Korean Society: Roles and the Need for Cultural Ground Expansion

This study explores the role and the necessity of expanding the social foundation of artainers—a compound term combining “artist” and “entertainer”—in contemporary Korean society. While previous academic discussions have rarely examined the identity of artainers, this research addresses both their cultural significance and their growing influence within the modern art scene. It investigates how the concept of the artainer emerged, why such a framework is relevant in the current art market, and how the public perceives and evaluates these hybrid creators.
Through analyses of representative Korean and international artainers, the study identifies social attitudes, recurring criticisms, and structural limitations associated with celebrity-driven artistic practice. Furthermore, it examines how, despite persistent controversy, many artainers continue to pursue independent artistic visions and motivations. By classifying artainers according to their creative purposes and modes of practice, this study provides a more systematic understanding of the field and offers conceptual criteria to clarify its boundaries. It also explores the impact of fame on public trust and influence through small-scale perception studies, highlighting the sociocultural power of artainers in shaping audience responses. It also mentions the current institutional position of arttainers and conducts a policy analysis on them. It mentions what institutional transformation is needed and why it is necessary to encourage and encourage the activities of arttainers. In addition, through an interview with Park Ki-woong, a representative arttainer in Korea, we hear answers about the gaze and responsibility of those around us who feel as arttainers and what policies need to be improved socially and include them in this paper without adding or subtracting as much as possible.
Finally, by connecting with this, we conclude the thesis with the social role, contribution, and expansion potential of arttainers, and policy suggestions. In the end, various discourses and articles scattered about arttainers are collected, various opinions are presented, and at the same time, it helps understand the existence of arttainers themselves. Furthermore, we will explore the content up to 'what role arttainers play socially and what effects we can gain socially by expanding their base'. Policy recommendations include expanding institutional support for hybrid artists, integrating artist models into arts education, and building infrastructure that encourages interdisciplinary creation. This research ultimately positions artists as catalysts for a more inclusive and participatory cultural ecosystem.
