본 연구에서는 추천 시스템에서 사용자–아이템 상호작용을 이분 네트워크로 표현하고, 노드의 속성 정보를 혼합 소속 구조에 반영하는 BMWA(Bipartite Mixed-Membership Stochastic Block Model with Node Attributes) 모형을 제안한다.

We propose the BMWA (Bipartite Mixed-Membership Stochastic Block Model with Node Attributes), which integrates user–item attributes into the mixed-membership structure of bipartite networks for recommender systems. Attributes are connected to Dirichlet hyperparameters via an exponential–linear function, allowing their influence on community memberships. The model is estimated through a variational EM algorithm, jointly inferring block-specific rating distributions and attribute coefficients that quantify how attributes shape memberships. When attributes are strongly related to community structure, BMWA yields more personalized and interpretable memberships, while in weakly related cases it behaves like a standard model without attributes. Simulations and real data demonstrate stable, competitive predictive performance and practical interpretability.
