Collagen-based nanofibers, fabricated via electrospinning, have emerged as highly promising materials for advanced skin mask applications. This is due to their inherent biocompatibility (owing to the collagen) and desirable physical properties such as high porosity and a large surface area-to-volume ratio, which are characteristic of nanofiber mats. However, achieving optimal and reproducible nanofiber properties is a significant challenge. This difficulty is not only due to the numerous process parameters (e.g., applied voltage, flow rate, humidity) but is significantly compounded by the complex physicochemical interactions within the polymer blend itself and this overall complexity necessitates a time-consuming, trial-and-error approach. This study proposes an AI-driven strategy to overcome these limitations by accurately predicting nanofiber properties in the Collagen-PEO electrospinning process. A systematic experimental dataset was established by fabricating nanofibers under a wide range of controlled conditions. This dataset was used to develop and train a machine learning (ML) model capable of mapping the intricate relationships between input parameters and resultant fiber characteristics. The developed predictive model demonstrates high accuracy (R² > 0.96) in forecasting average fiber diameter and morphology. Furthermore, the model was utilized to identify the most influential parameters governing the process and quantify their impact. This AI-driven approach provides a powerful and efficient pathway for process optimization, significantly reducing experimental costs and development time. It enables the in silico design of nanofiber mats with tailored properties, accelerating the fabrication of functional, next-generation skin mask applications with enhanced therapeutic efficacy.
