This dissertation was conducted to decode the implicit neural correlates underlying consumer decision-making in different contexts concerning
information. The first context concerns personal privacy information breaches. The dissertation examines the neural activation of consumers in privacy breach situations and how the brain correlates trigger responses towards corporations. The second context utilizes a modified dictator
game setting, constructing a trade-off context where self-interest and other-interest motives coexist to explore how charitable feedback
information from charitable organizations overrides the self-interest motive to pursue a unique product that influences donation behavior and
the implicit neural evidence underlying other interested (altruistic) and self-interested behaviors that promote this behavior.
The third context examines consumers' adoption of financial investment information given by humans and artificial intelligence in different
states with different market-driven recommendations, aiming to explore whether consumers are more inclined to adopt financial investment
advice provided by humans than AI and its underlying neural evidence. The dissertation finally intends to show neuropsychological evidence to understand consumers' avoidance behavior and approach behavior toward corporations' varying privacy practices, the neural evidence on how feedback information on donation outcomes from charities can trigger consumers' altruistic tendencies, and implicit neurological evidence on
consumers' tendency to adopt investment advice information when faced with AI and human advice in different situations.
