Third, what is the relationship between the consumption of Newtro content by the digital native generation and the formation of their cultural identity?
This study applied a mixed-methods approach, combining video analysis, comment analysis, and interview analysis, to examine the phenomenon of Newtro consumption from various perspectives. First, a video analysis was conducted on the top five episodes of Infinite Challenge selected through viewer voting to identify the narrative structures and cultural meanings of the content. Second, text mining and emotion analysis were performed by collecting 14,502 YouTube comments posted on the videos. Through this, major emotional keywords and response patterns were analyzed. Third, interviews were conducted with 26 digital natives born after 1990 to collect qualitative data on their content consumption behaviors and perceptions.

Furthermore, through processes of reconsumption via memes, short clips, and repetitive catchphrases, Newtro content continuously acquired current meanings beyond its past context. As a result of comment analysis, the digital native generation parodied past catchphrases or exchanged comfort through comments, thereby recontextualizing Newtro content with current emotions and language. In the interaction process, they emerged as active agents who experienced emotional empathy and meaning formation, reconstructing their own cultural identities. As a result of interview analysis, the digital native generation consumed Infinite Challenge as a medium of memories, a psychological healing space, and a cultural language for everyday communication. Moreover, they formed new modes of consumption by repeatedly recontextualizing Newtro content within the digital platform environment, involving meme production, clip re-editing, and algorithmic recommendations.

By comprehensively analyzing the reinterpretation of Newtro content and the process of generational identity formation, this study offers significant academic implications for research on contemporary media consumption culture.
