    A Study on the Use of Advanced Technology to Prevent Worker Safety Accidents at Small-Scale Construction Sites Chung Jae-seung Advisor : Prof. Jeong Dae-geun, Ph.D. Department of Disaster Prevention & Safety, Graduate School of Gwangju University This study aims to propose effective management measures to effectively reduce safety accidents at small-scale construction sites, following the implementation of the Serious Accident Punishment Act. Specifically, the following objectives are established: First, the types, frequency, and main causes of serious accidents at domestic construction sites will be compared and analyzed from a statistical and case-based perspective to identify limitations and issues. By identifying the characteristics of accidents occurring at small and medium-sized construction sites, the study will develop safety management measures that utilize cutting-edge technologies. Second, the architecture of a safety management system with digital will be designed to reflect the process flow, risk factors & management, and work environments in small-scale construction sites. This system are include IoT sensor networks, risk notification real-time data and communication systems. Third, in-depth expert interviews and evaluation will conduct to verifycation the operational plan of design for system, ensuring the effective of the safety management system with digital in design. Fourth, to refine the system operation and design, system screen configuration, application scenarios, and system performance analysis will be reviewed. With the aforemention research objectives, in study aims to contribute to reducing safety mangement accidents at small-scale construction sites with establishing a prevention for contruction safety management system that complies at the spirit of the law. Specifically, by presenting a designed and safety management operational model for a cutting-edge technology-based system specifically in to small-scale construction sites, the study aims to impact effective management measures to the specific needs of the site. This paper's research method is fourfold. first, to examine and analyze case studies of serious accidents and industrial accidents in various fields, drawing implications from prior research and theoretical considerations. Second, to examine and analyze relevant domestic and international legal systems, to identify institutional challenges and develop technologically feasible solutions for small-scale construction sites. Furthermore, to investigate and analyze safety accident statistics and case studies at small-scale construction sites, to identify their causes and potential problems. Third, this study aims to determine and curate cutting-edge technologies tailored for small-scale construction projects based on analytical data, followed by an assessment of their practical feasibility Fourth, to utilize the proven cutting-edge technologies, to propose a design, configuration, etc for a safety management system for small-scale construction sites.
