Contemporary architecture has shifted its paradigm from the construction of fixed forms and styles to spaces of experience that embody the spectator's physical movement and the flow of time. Particularly in spaces dealing with memory and placeness, emphasis is placed on the importance of 'Spatial Sequence', which connects fragmented scenes into a single complete narrative, rather than merely listing them. However, existing discussions on spatial directing have been limited to a scenographic perspective that remains at the composition of static scenes from a fixed viewpoint, showing limitations in structurally explaining continuous spatial experiences involving movement and time. Therefore, this study aims to establish the concept of 'Directorial Space' as a mechanism to expand static scenes into dynamic sequences, and to identify its 'construction principles of spatial sequence' for application in actual design. To overcome the limitations of previous studies that remained at chronological classifications, this study redefines memorial museums as Directorial Spaces for analysis. The research process proceeds by firstly organizing the current status of memorial museum cases, and then selecting secondary cases according to clear analysis criteria for in-depth analysis. To this end, a PGS analysis model consisting of Point of view, Scene grammar, and Sensory system is proposed. This model is used to analyze the mechanism of spatial construction by combining it with contemporary architectural sequence theory and montage techniques. The results indicate that Directorial Space in contemporary architecture possesses the following construction principles of spatial sequence through the organic combination of PGS elements. First, Point of view (P) physically controls and induces the spectator's movement, forming a circulation structure that grants temporality to static space. Second, Scene grammar (G) connects fragmented scenes into a single narrative structure through visual interpenetration using transparency and voids, as well as montage editing. Third, Sensory system (S) eliminates daily time through defamiliarization of light and materiality, and concretizes abstract narratives into specific psychological experiences. These principles are categorized into six types: Immersive Descent, Contemplative Emptiness, Narrative Sequence, Participatory Forum, Symbolic Unmaking, and Liminal Threshold. Each type implements architectural continuity through its unique sequence structure. This study proposed an urban architectural design by applying the construction principles of the 'Liminal Threshold' type, which secures continuity by extending the boundary between different heterogeneous realms into a transition space. Through this, it was proven that the theory of Directorial Space is a valid universal design principle not only for special facilities like memorials but also for modern urban architecture requiring complex circulation and sequence processing. In conclusion, this study identified that Directorial Space is an architectural system that completes the spatial sequence by combining physical spatial arrangement with the flow of time and the spectator's movement, going beyond simple visual directing.
