양가감정의 시각 표현을 위한 신체 요소의 분절적 표현 일러스트레이션 연구 : 본인 작품 중심으로 = Illustration Research on the Segmented Representation of Bodily Elements for the Visual Expression of Ambivalent Emotions : the researcher's works

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 양가감정의 시각적 구조를 효과적으로 드러내기 위한 일러스트레이션의 조 형 방법론을 탐구한다 현대 사회에서 감정은 단일한 정서로 환원되기보다 서로 다른 층위의 감정이 동시에 작용하는 복합적 양상을 보이며 이러한 다층성은 언어적 서술만으로는 충분히 포착되기 어렵다. 이에 본 연구는 신체의 파편화와 단위화라는 조형적 개념을 활용하여 감정의 중첩 충돌 변주를 시각적으로 표현할 수 있는 가능성을 고찰하였다. 신체 파편화는 형태를 해체하고 단위화하는 과정을 통해 감정의 분열적 흐름과 미세한 감정 변화의 간극을 드러내는 데 효과적이며, 이는 현대 미술에서 감정의 직접성과 신체성을 강조하는 표현 경향과도 맞닿아 있다. 연구는 감정 색채 형태 간 대응 구조를 설정하고 스케치 및 조형 실험을 통해 신체 파편화의 시각적 기능을 다각도로 검토하였다. 이를 바탕으로 양가감정을 주제로 한 일러스트레이션을 제작하여 파편화된 신체 요소가 감정의 복합성과 다중성을 효과적으로 환기할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 연구 결과는 양가감정의 조형적 표현 가능성을 제시함과 동시에 파편화 기법이 감정의 미세한 층위를 시각화하는 유효한 전략임을 보여준다. 본 연구는 감정 표현의 확장된 일러스트레이션 방법론을 제안하며 향후 감정 기반 시 각예술 연구의 기초적 토대를 마련한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study explores a formative methodology in illustration for visually articulating ambivalent emotions, which emerge when diverse emotional states operate simultaneously rather than as singular and unified feelings. Such emotional complexity is difficult to capture through verbal description alone, thus requiring visual strategies capable of expressing subtle variations, overlaps, and contradictions between emotional layers. The research focuses on the concept of body fragmentation and modularization, examining its potential to reveal emotional discontinuity, multiplicity, and the nuanced shifts that occur within complex affective experiences. Body fragmentation, as a process of deconstructing and reorganizing bodily forms, effectively highlights the discontinuous and layered attributes of emotion and aligns with contemporary artistic practices that emphasize corporeality and expressive immediacy.
The study establishes a correlation system among emotion, color, and form, and conducts sketch-based and visual experiments to investigate the functional role of fragmented bodily units. Based on these examinations, a series of illustrations was produced to represent ambivalent emotions, demonstrating that fragmented body structures can effectively evoke emotional complexity and multi-dimensionality. The findings suggest that body fragmentation serves as a productive strategy for visualizing subtle emotional strata and propose an expanded methodology for emotion-centered illustration practices. This study thus offers a foundational framework for future visual-art research concerned with the expressive representation of complex emotional states.
