성인 애착이 이성 관계 만족도에 미치는 영향 : 내현적 자기애와 거부 민감성의 순차적 매개효과 = The Effects of Adult Attachment and Relationship Satisfaction: The Sequential Mediating Effects of Covert Narcissism and Rejection Sensitivity

The aim of this study was to examine the effects of adult attachment on romantic relationship satisfaction and to investigate the sequential mediating effects of covert narcissism and rejection sensitivity in this relationship among unmarried adults. The following research questions were established for this purpose. First, what are the relationships among attachment anxiety, covert narcissism, rejection sensitivity, and romantic relationship satisfaction? Second, what is the sequential mediating effect of covert narcissism and rejection sensitivity in the relationship between attachment anxiety and romantic relationship satisfaction? Third, what are the relationships among attachment avoidance, covert narcissism, rejection sensitivity, and romantic relationship satisfaction? Fourth, what is the sequential mediating effect of covert narcissism and rejection sensitivity in the relationship between attachment avoidance and romantic relationship satisfaction? To this end, data were collected from 432 unmarried men and women aged 20 to 34 who were currently in a romantic relationship or had previous dating experience. The data were analyzed using SPSS 28.0 and the SPSS PROCESS macro Model 6. The findings are as follows. First, as a consequence of analyzing the relationships among attachment anxiety, covert narcissism, rejection sensitivity, and romantic relationship satisfaction, attachment anxiety was found to be significantly positively correlated with covert narcissism and rejection sensitivity, and significantly negatively correlated with romantic relationship satisfaction. In addition, romantic relationship satisfaction was significantly negatively correlated with attachment anxiety, covert narcissism, and rejection sensitivity. Second, as a result of verifying the mediating effect of covert narcissism in the relationship between attachment anxiety and romantic relationship satisfaction, it was found that covert narcissism had a partial mediating effect. Third, it was found that rejection sensitivity fully mediated the relationship between attachment anxiety and romantic relationship satisfaction. Fourth, the sequential mediating effect of attachment anxiety on romantic relationship satisfaction through covert narcissism and rejection sensitivity was found to be significant, indicating a full mediation effect. Fifth, as a consequence of analyzing the relationships among attachment avoidance, covert narcissism, rejection sensitivity, and romantic relationship satisfaction, attachment avoidance was found to be significantly positively correlated with covert narcissism and rejection sensitivity, and significantly negatively correlated with romantic relationship satisfaction. Romantic relationship satisfaction was also negatively correlated with attachment avoidance, covert narcissism, and rejection sensitivity. Sixth, as a result of verifying the mediating effect of covert narcissism, covert narcissism was found to partially mediate the relationship between attachment avoidance and romantic relationship satisfaction. Seventh, it was found that rejection sensitivity also partially mediated the relationship between attachment avoidance and romantic relationship satisfaction. Eighth, the sequential mediating effect of attachment avoidance on romantic relationship satisfaction through covert narcissism and rejection sensitivity was found to be significant, indicating a partial mediation effect. Based on these results, the implications and limitations of the study were discussed, and suggestions for future research were presented.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 성인기 미혼 남녀를 대상으로 성인 애착이 이성 관계 만족도에 미치는 영향에서 내현적 자기애와 거부 민감성의 순차적 매개효과를 알아보는 것을 목적으 로 한다. 이를 위한 다음과 같은 연구 문제를 설정하였다. 첫째, 애착 불안, 내현적 자기애, 거부 민감성, 이성 관계 만족도 간의 관계는 어 떠한가? 둘째, 애착 불안과 이성 관계 만족도와의 관계에서 내현적 자기애와 거부 민감성 의 순차적 매개효과는 어떠한가? 셋째, 애착 회피, 내현적 자기애, 거부 민감성, 이성 관계 만족도 간의 관계는 어 떠한가? 넷째, 애착 회피와 이성 관계 만족도와의 관계에서 거부 민감성의 순차적 매개효과는 어떠한가? 이를 위해 현재 교제하고 있거나 한 번이라도 교제 경험이 있었던 만 20~34세 성 인기 미혼 남녀 432명의 자료를 수집하여 SPSS 28.0 프로그램과 SPSS PROCESS Macro의 Model 6을 활용하였다. 결과는 다음과 같이 제시하였다. 첫째, 애착 불안, 내현적 자기애, 거부 민감성, 이성 관계 만족도 간의 관계를 분 석한 결과 애착 불안은 내현적 자기애, 거부 민감성과 정적 상관으로 나타났으며 이성 관계 만족도와는 부적 상관으로 나타났다. 이성 관계 만족도는 애착 불안, 내 현적 자기애, 거부 민감성과는 부적 상관으로 나타났다. 둘째, 애착 불안과 이성 관계 만족도 간의 관계에서 내현적 자기애는 부분 매개하 는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 애착 불안과 이성 관계 만족도 간의 관계에서 거부 민감성은 완전 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 애착 불안은 내현적 자기애와 거부 민감성을 순차적으로 거쳐 이성 관계 만족도 에 영향을 미치는 완전 매개효과로 나타났다. 다섯째, 애착 회피, 내현적 자기애, 거부 민감성, 이성 관계 만족도 간의 관계를 분 석한 결과 애착 회피는 내현적 자기애, 거부 민감성과 정적 상관으로 나타났으며 이성 관계 만족도과는 정적 상관으로 나타났다. 이성 관계 만족도는 애착 회피, 내 현적 자기애, 거부 민감성과는 부적 상관으로 나타났다. 여섯째, 애착 회피와 이성 관계 만족도의 관계에서 내현적 자기애는 부분 매개효과를 보였다. 일곱째, 애착 회피와 이성 관계 만족도의 관계에서 거부 민감성은 부분 매개효과를 보 였다. 여덟째, 애착 회피는 내현적 자기애와 거부 민감성을 거치는 순차적 경로를 통해 부분 매개효과로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 연구의 의의와 제한점과 함께 후속 연구 에 대한 제언을 제시하였다.
