This study aims to analyze the substitution errors between Korean case particles, with a particular focus on the substitution of ‘-eul/reul’ and ‘-e’, based on this, an effective teaching plan is proposed for Chinese intermediate-level learners of Korean.
Chapter 1 explains on the purpose and necessity of this research, reviews the previous related studies, and thereby clearly defines the specific topic and research scope of this study.
Chapter 2 provides a theoretical explanation of Korean case particles and their system, explores the syntactic and semantic characteristics of ‘-eul/reul’ and ‘-e’, and conducts a comparative analysis. Additionally, it introduces the theory of Problem-Based Learning (PBL), sorts out the main teaching–learning models currently applied in Korean language education, and thereby constructs an effective instructional model for teaching ‘-eul/reul’ and ‘-e’
Chapter 3 examines the actual usage tendencies and error types of ‘-eul/reul’ and ‘-e’ among intermediate Chinese learners of Korean. Based on the characteristics of the two particles summarized through dictionary definitions and previous studies in Chapter two, four types of beginner—intermediate textbooks commonly used by Chinese learners were reviewed to understand the presentation methods and usage frequencies of the two particles. At the same time, by utilizing the learner corpus provided by the National Institute of the Korean Language of South Korean, the tyes of substitution errors between -eul/reul and -e and their causes are explored.
Chapter 4 base on the results obtained from the analysis of the third chapter’s teaching materials and the corpus analysis propose a teaching plan to help intermediate-level Korean learners in China accurately master the usage of -eul/reul and -e. This chapter uses the PBL teaching model introduced in Chapter Two to design a demonstrative teaching plan suitable for intermediate learners.
Chapter 5 integrates the research contents of Chapters One to Four, summarizes the main achievements and significance of this study, points out the limitations of the research, and presents a comprehensive conclusion.
