중국 대학 예술교육에서의 뮤지컬 교과과정 개발 연구 = A Study on the Development of a Musical Curriculum in Chinese University Arts Education

This study aims to provide in-depth exploration and speculative insight into the direction of musicals in Chinese arts education and the university curriculum system. It will conduct an in-depth analysis of the development trends of musicals in Chinese arts education. Utilizing literature review and survey research methods, it will organize the concept, characteristics, and current status of musicals. It will also examine their development in China and explore their impact on pluralistic practices in university education and the humanistic literacy of non-music majors.
Previous research has shown that musicals possess the characteristics of coherence, pluralism, aesthetics, and commercial viability. Following initial practice and creative exploration, they are now in a period of robust development in China. Universities are key venues for cultivating musical talent. Curriculum systems encompass various types, including music colleges, comprehensive universities, and dance and drama colleges. While each has its own unique characteristics, a gap exists between the curriculum design and the market. Furthermore, challenges such as a lack of creative thinking among students remain. Compared to overseas educational approaches, domestic universities should strengthen dramatic expression in vocal music education, expand physical movement courses, integrate Chinese folk dance with drama elements, and strengthen improvisation and examination skills courses centered on play titles, thereby enhancing students" practical and employable skills.
Furthermore, the theater company model and the university model should complement each other in parallel, jointly building a musical talent cultivation ecosystem. Musical theater plays a significant role in enhancing the humanities literacy of non-music majors. It plays a unique role in fostering emotional awareness, critical thinking, and social skills, forming an effective complementary model with traditional educational models. This study aims to provide systematic results and prospective recommendations for the development of musical arts education in China, thereby enabling musicals to shine on the international stage.
