This study quantitatively analyzes pedestrian-level wind environment characteristics according to apartment layout types and evaluates wind comfort using established assessment criteria. Wind tunnel experiments and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analyses were conducted for Y-shaped, L-shaped, and I-shaped layouts to examine wind speed distribution patterns and the reliability of CFD results. The results indicate that pedestrian-level wind speed distributions and local wind amplification vary depending on layout type, and that evaluation outcomes differ in conservativeness among assessment criteria. This study provides fundamental reference data for rational pedestrian wind environment assessment considering layout-specific characteristics in apartment complex design.
