Airport Operational Readiness (ORAT) is a comprehensive philosophy developed to ensure the operability, reliability, and quality of services within newly built airport infrastructure. Its primary objective is to secure safe and efficient operations from the very first day of opening and to establish a sustainable framework for long-term performance. ORAT encompasses two main dimensions: Operational Readiness, structured around the FISH philosophy to guarantee compliance with architectural, technical, and service requirements; and Airport Transfer, which focuses on the transition and migration of services when moving from an existing infrastructure to a new terminal facility.
This research study aims to contribute to the understanding of the benefits of the operational readiness philosophy in airport projects, especially new terminal buildings. Through an analysis of Operational Readiness's effectiveness in mitigating risks and enhancing airport services, we aim to identify the key factors that ensure successful airport operations. The results of this research will highlight the importance of correctly implementing the Operational Readiness philosophy as the culture of continuous improvement in airport development, especially in project management.
