This study analyzed the moderating effects of the directors’ servant leadership on the relationship between childcare teachers’ Type A behavior pattern and relationship conflict.
The participants of this study were 268 childcare teachers in Daegu, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province. Participants completed questionnaires measuring Type A behavior pattern, the directors’ servant leadership, and relationship conflict. Data were analyzed using SPSS 19.0 and SPSS PROCESS Macro (v4.2, Model 1).
The results of the study are as follows.
First, the Type A behavior pattern was found to significantly increase relationship conflict among childcare teachers.
Second, the directors’ servant leadership was found to be a moderating variable in the relationship between the Type A behavior pattern and relationship conflict.
This study confirmed that the directors’ servant leadership functions as a protective factor that alleviates the impact of childcare teachers’ Type A behavior pattern on relationship conflict.
Therefore, this study provides a basis for improving childcare organization and the quality of childcare from an administrative perspective. It also suggests that strengthening directors’ servant leadership and reducing childcare teachers’ relationship conflict can effectively enhance the quality of childcare practice and promote the sustainable operation of childcare institutions.
