This dissertation aims to provide a comprehensive grammar of contemporary Kurmanji Kurdish-a language that is still in the process of standardization-by offering detailed linguistic insights into its phonological, morphological, and syntactic features. The primary objectives of this work are to present a unified overview of the Kurmanji Kurdish alphabet and grammar, deliver a systematic linguistic account of the widely accepted Kurmanji variety, and document examples from major regional varieties-most notably those spoken in Sanliurfa (Riha), Hakkari (Hakkari), Elazig (Xarpit), and Mardin (Merdin)-to expand our understanding of the language. By incorporating new analyses and fieldwork data to previously published scholarship, this study supports ongoing standardization efforts of the language and addresses the need for comprehensive language materials.
