This study aims to explore the relationships and mediating effects between professional identity, learning motivation, self-leadership, and academic achievement among Chinese college students majoring in environmental design. By reviewing relevant previous research, this study constructs a research model that illustrates the relationships between the study variables and the mediating effects. The research sample consists of undergraduate students majoring in environmental design from five universities in Henan Province, China. Data were collected through an online questionnaire survey, conducted from May 10, 2024, to June 30, 2024. A total of 556 questionnaires were distributed, and 513 valid responses were received. The collected data were used to confirm the relationships between the variables and to verify the mediating effects.
