      Global port cargo throughput has shown a steady upward trend.
      This is mainly due to the global economic recovery and booming
      international trade. Especially in emerging markets and developing
      countries, the pace of port construction has accelerated, and the
      throughput has grown rapidly. At the same time, with the continuous
      progress of logistics technology and the improvement of intelligence
      level, the port operation efficiency has also been significantly improved.
      This paper focuses on the innovation efficiency and intelligent
      development of port construction, and analyzes the important role
      played by Chinese ports in the global trade and logistics system and
      the challenges they face by reviewing the current research status. In
      the context of morden port construction, this paper discusses the
      future development direction of 15 representative Chinese ports in
      detail. Based on the three-stage DEA efficiency evaluation model and
      related efficiency evaluation index system, the innovation efficiency of
      China's major ports is comprehensively measured. In the specific
      calculation process, not only the port's own operational efficiency is
      considered, but also external environmental indicators are fully
      introduced, including the total amount of imports and exports, the
      composition of the tertiary industry, and the volume of road freight in
      the region where the port is located. And based on this, the
      innovation efficiency is adjusted to evaluate the innovation efficiency
      of each port in a more scientific and comprehensive way. By
      comparing the innovation efficiency before and after the adjustment,
      the tobit regression model is used to deeply analyze the influencing
      factors of China's port innovation efficiency, and explore the specific
      i
      effects of each index on the port innovation efficiency. Synthesize the
      status quo and influencing factors of innovation efficiency of each
      port. In order to provide a strong theoretical support and empirical
      basis for improving port innovation ability and efficiency. And then
      put forward targeted suggestions by strengthening technological
      innovation,
      intelligent
      upgrading and sustainable development
      strategies. China's ports are moving towards a more efficient,
      collaborative, green and sustainable direction. The research in this
      paper not only provides scientific data support and strategic
      suggestions for port managers, but also provides useful references for
      promoting the transformation and upgrading of the global port
      industry and sustainable development.
