Climate change and its factors are impacting the Vakhsh River Basin which is a basic water asset for Tajikistan. This study investigates the impacts of Climatic factors on the hydrological system of the Vakhsh River Basin in Tajikistan. It is determined to observe the changes in water flow patterns in the stream of the Vakhsh River due to natural and anthropogenic factors. The major variables to check these changes are Temperature, Precipitation, and River flow. Qualitative research approach has been used by applying thematic analysis as the primary analytical approach. Correlation analysis has been integrated to assess historical and current trends in temperature, precipitation, and stream flow. Data were collected from reliable governmental and scientific sources with a focus on examining interdependencies between climatic variables and hydrological responses. The findings of the study reveal significant changes in temperature, with a steady increase observed over recent decades, particularly during spring and summer. This warming trend has speed up the processes of snowmelting leading to higher discharge rates during early summer but the availability of water resources in late summer and autumn. The study concludes that the hydrological processes of the Vakhsh River Basin is highly sensitive to climatic changes with significant implications to water resource management. Adaptive strategies including improved reservoir operations and predictive modeling for extreme weather events are recommended to mitigate the challenges posed by seasonal and long-term variations in stream flow. By addressing specific climatic and hydrological dynamics, this research provides a valuable foundation for policymakers and stakeholders to enhance water resource resources sustainability and resilience in the Vakhsh River Basin.
