War veterans have been portrayed in negative ways in the media of various countries. This study seeks to examine the representations of Korean War veterans in two South Korean newspapers, The Korea Times, and The Korea Herald, to shed light on whether the coverage's trends are positive or neutral, and thus fill the gap in the research on veterans’ media representation research. The results of the analysis provide a better understanding of the portrayal of Korean War veterans. Korean War veterans are represented positively, with dominating frames, such as “Honor”, “Remember”, “Gratitude”, “Sacrify”, “Defend”, “Peace”, “Freedom” and “Commemoration”, and with fewer negatives frames such as “Wounded”, “Killed” “Fallen”, and generic frames “US-Alliance” and “Memorial celebration”. We can conclude that despite a few PTSD-related words mentioned, particularly in one of the two newspapers, the representation of Korean war veterans is balanced.
