In the modern society, due to the advent of IoT technology in which various things are connected to the Internet, it has developed to be able to access the network at any time using various smart devices and to perform public and private tasks through this. In addition, it is used in various industries such as Autonomous Vehicle, Smart Health Care, and Smart City, and many previously designed systems or IT devices are being miniaturized so that they can be used anytime, anywhere. Along with the rapidly growing IoT technology, cyber attacks are also increasing and diversifying in their forms. In particular, forms that threaten life by attacking systems that are close to the realm of human life, such as smart medical devices used directly on people, have also appeared. The MTD(Moving Target Defense) strategy has emerged and is being used so that the system can actively respond to the attack by giving proactivity to the system to be protected from such cyber attacks. The emergence of the MTD strategy has shifted the paradigm from passive system defense to active system defense, but indiscriminate use of the MTD strategy has the disadvantage of acting as a large overhead to the system to be protected. In addition, there are difficulties in constructing an optimal MTD strategy due to the lack of indicators and visual information that can identify various components for constructing an MTD strategy.
To solve this problem, in this paper, I propose the Data Visualization Engine for visualize the component data of MTD Strategy and Cyber Attack Information. In order to implement the proposed engine, various existing MTD strategy research results were surveyed and analyzed to derive various components of the MTD strategy and various attack surfaces of actual cyber attack information. In addition, a visual information dataset was established to conveniently grasp the connection between MTD strategy and cyber attack information and various components. Using this engine, previous MTD strategy researchers can use it as an indicator to check how the results of their research are connected to actual cyber attack information and whether the optimal MTD strategy configuration has been established. And a researcher who wants to conduct a new MTD strategy study can check what components the results of various existing MTD strategy studies consist of. Furthermore, compared with components of actual cyber attack information, it can be used as an index to determine the research direction for conducting new MTD strategy research.
