This study was conducted to help teenagers form the right health factors and physical activities by identifying the differences between teenagers' health factors, physical activities and eating habits due to the increased dependence of teenagers on smart-phones due to the covid-19 situation. To this end, a survey of 288 middle school students in Seoul was conducted, and the differences in smart-phone usage, health-related factors, physical activities, sedentary life time, and eating habits were analyzed according to the degree of overdependence on smart-phones. As a result, the potential risk group, which is highly dependent on smart-phones, has significantly longer smart-phone usage time than the general user group, and has more conflicts with parents. Furthermore, the high intensity of physical activity and walking participation in the potential risk group was significantly less than that of the general user group, and the potential risk group youths were not only more stressed out but were also aware of poor health. Finally, the potential risk group had higher intake of high sugar, high fat, and high calorie foods and sodium than the general user group, and overall eating habits were not good. Therefore, it is believed that smart-phone use should be moderated so that teenagers do not rely too much on smart-phones due to covid-19 and that schools and homes should be trained to form active participation in physical activities and balanced eating habits.
