The purpose of this study is to analyse the interrelationship between knowledge sharing and team cohesion, which are the main contributors to an organization's innovative behavior facing an unpredictable environment called the Fourth Wave or the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Based on the preceding study, the theoretical consideration of the concepts of knowledge sharing, team cohesion and innovative behavior and the relationship between each of the variables were analyzed and the empirical analysis of the effect of knowledge sharing and team cohesion on innovative behavior was conducted to verify the effectiveness of the team cohesion in the relationship between knowledge sharing and innovative behavior. Specific findings are as follows.
First, the relationship between knowledge sharing and social cohesion among team cohesion was verified and knowledge sharing was found to be related to positive influence on social cohesion. Knowledge sharing is achieved through communication between members and is shown to be a cohesive force through the exchange of knowledge and the development of value.
Second, the relationship between group attachment during knowledge sharing and team cohesion has been verified that knowledge sharing is related to positive influence on group attachment. Enhanced communication through knowledge sharing not only strengthens social cohesion, but also strengthens group attachment.
Third, the relationship between social cohesion and innovative behavior has been verified and social cohesion has a positive effect on innovation behavior. Innovative actions mean that organizational members must be united to lead the organization in the desired direction.
Fourth, verification of the relationship between group attachment and innovative behavior showed that group attachment has a negative impact on innovation behavior. Excessive group attachment means that it has a negative effect on the act of innovation that results in changes in the organization, which needs to be adjusted so that group attachment does not affect the act of innovation.
Fifth, it was analyzed that knowledge sharing ‘knowledge sharing will affect innovation behavior’ has a positive impact on innovation behavior. Innovative behaviors are changes in the organization, which can be interpreted through knowledge sharing as the process in which members of an organization exchange knowledge with each other and develop value naturally leads to innovative behavior.
Finally, it was analyzed that both social cohesion and group attachment between knowledge sharing and innovative behavior play the role of sub-media, not full-scale. The result is that in order for knowledge sharing to move toward innovative behavior, it is necessary to control social cohesion and group attachment among organizational members.
This study has the following limitations, and it is deemed necessary to supplement the results so that they can be generalized through further research. First, time and expense constraints have led to the application of the limited and expedient extraction of the target entity, which may result in a lack of a comparison to the generalization of the verification results. Thus, it is necessary to expand the target to a wider range of industries in the future, and second, because the questionnaire used in this study is a subjective self-reporting questionnaire for respondents, there is a possibility of subjective responses from those surveyed.
Third, in order to ensure the objectivity of the study with the data collected once, there is a need for a longitudinal study, and finally, in the demographic section, the proportion of male and female respondents to male respondents and the proportion of male and female respondents to those in their 30s and 40s should be considered in future studies. Therefore, future studies will need to supplement these limitations.
