元雜劇《趙氏孤兒》硏究 : 예술적 변용을 중심으로

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

During the Yuan era, the culture, dynasty and politics are chaotic. For that, the writers during the Yuan era wrote the suffering of the age longing the lost nation through the dramas and had patriotism for that, and received such influence, 《Zhao the Orphan (趙氏孤兒)》by Junxian Ji also inspired the national consciousness and wrote about the loyalty and the vengeance expressing the 'Reestablish Song against Yuan (反元復宋)'.
The origin of the ancient event began from Spring and Autumn period, had been reset, added and deleted by the influence of the《Zho Zhuan (左傳)》and 《Shiji (史記)》and endlessly mentioned by the people. Yuan drama, 《Zhao the Orphan (趙氏孤兒)》 was created by adding or deleting the contents or changing the characters as time passed by. Although its contents are not exactly same, the 《Zhao the Orphan (趙氏孤兒)》 had been handed down continuously.
《Zhao the Orphan (趙氏孤兒)》is one of the dramas of China having long history and is one the dramas beloved not only by Chinese but also by other countries. For that, the research on 《Zhao the Orphan (趙氏孤兒)》has been made constantly and such interest and the love for that has started from classics including original, was leaded to adaptation of the story matching the flow of era and to the researches in diverse areas
Therefore, in this study, 《Zhao the Orphan (趙氏孤兒)》 was examined in the classical drama and in the modern drama, especially in the performance arts considering that it is a work having significance in the history of Chinese drama, performance arts, modern drama and movie as different development can be seen according to the era, audiences, country, etc. although 《Zhao the Orphan (趙氏孤兒)》has same motive for the characteristics of each genre.
The transformation process of the ancient event 《Zhao the Orphan (趙氏孤兒)》was reviewed according to the author Junxian Ji and historical records, and the contents and the composition were examined.
For transformation in the performance arts, it is divided into the transformation in theater and movie and for the transformation in the performance, the parts adapted as 《Zhao the Orphan (趙氏孤兒)》performed in France, China and out country and the characteristics of direction were examined, For the transformation in the movie, the adaptation and the composition were examined through 《Zhao the Orphan (趙氏孤兒)》by Chen Kaige and the reason why it was failed at the box office in our country was reviewed.
I wish that diverse performance artistic works on 《Zhao the Orphan (趙氏孤兒)》are researched in future.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

元代에는 문화, 시대, 정치가 혼란스러웠다. 그로 인해 元代의 문인들은 잡극을 통해 잃어버린 나라를 그리워하며 시대의 아픔을 노래하게 되었고 그로 인해 애국심을 갖게 되었는데 紀君祥의 《趙氏孤兒》 또한 그러한 영향을 받아 反元復宋’이라는 희망을 표현하며 민족의식을 고취시키고 충의와 복수를 노래하였다.
고사의 기원은 《春秋》로부터 시작되는데 《左傳》,《史記》로부터 영향을 받아 개편, 첨가, 삭제되어 사람들의 입에 끊임없이 오르내리고, 시간이 흘러감에 따라 내용에 살이 덧붙여지거나 축소하거나 등장인물들을 변형하여 元雜劇《趙氏孤兒》를 창작하였다. 그 내용이 온전히 같진 않지만 《趙氏孤兒》의 전래는 계속 되어 왔다.
《趙氏孤兒》는 유구한 역사를 가지고 있는 중국 희곡 중 하나로 중국인들의 사랑뿐만 아니라 그 외 나라에서도 사랑을 많이 받은 희곡 작품 중 하나이다. 그로 인해 《趙氏孤兒》에 대한 연구는 지금까지 꾸준히 이어져 오고 있는데 이러한 관심과 사랑은 원작을 포함한 고전에서부터 시작되어 나아가 시대의 흐름에 맞추어 이야기를 각색해 현대의 공연, 영화에 이르기까지 다양한 분야에서 연구되고 있다.
이에 본 논문에서는《趙氏孤兒》라는 작품이 각 장르의 특성상 같은 모티브지만 시대, 관객, 나라 등에 따른 다른 전개를 볼 수 있어 중국 희극사, 공연예술, 현대극과 영화에서도 의의가 있는 작품이라 보고 고전극에서의《趙氏孤兒》와 현대극 특히 공연 예술에서의〈趙氏孤兒〉에 대해 고찰해 보고자 하였다.
작가 紀君祥과 史적 기록에 의한 《趙氏孤兒》고사의 변천과정에 대해 살펴보고《趙氏孤兒》의 내용과 구성을 살펴보고자 한다.
공연 예술적 변용으로는 연극과 영화에서의 변용으로 나눠 공연에서의 변용으로는 프랑스, 중국, 우리나라에서 공연된 〈趙氏孤兒〉로 각색된 부분과 연출의 특징을 살펴보고 영화에서의 변용으로는 천카이거의 〈趙氏孤兒〉를 통해 각색과 구성을 살펴보고 우리나라에서 흥행에 실패한 이유를 고찰해보았다. 앞으로도 《趙氏孤兒》에 대한 다양한 컨텐츠의 공연 예술적 작품들이 연구되어지기를 바라는 바 이다.
