In this study, we tried to empirically verify how GRIT affects career determination self-efficiency and career-preparatory behavior for female college students and to derive theoretical implications for successful career
guidance. To that end, 319 female college students attending four-year universities in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province were surveyed and analyzed through 301 respondents' response data. The measuring instruments used in this study are GRIT, career determination self-efficiency and career-preparatory behavior, and the data collected were analyzed using version 23 of the SPSS. The results of this study and the conclusions obtained from the discussion are as follows:
First, the GRIT of a female college student affects the sense of career determination self-efficiency. Among the sub-components of GRIT, tolerance has positive meaning for self-assessment, goal setting, planning and problem solving, which is a sub-factor of career determination self-efficiency. This means a higher GRIT will increase career-setting self-efficiency.
Second, the GRIT of female college students also affects career-preparatory behavior. Among the subcomponents of career-preparatory activities, patience, which is a sub-component of GRIT, has a significant positive correlation. This means that the higher the GRIT of female college students, the higher the level of career-preparatory behavior.
