기록물의 개념적 구성과 기억·정체성 구현 : 공군 역사기록관리단 시청각 기록콘텐츠화 사례를 중심으로

Records As Conceptual Constructs and Memory·Identity Implementation : Focused on Archival Contents Service of Republic of Korea Air Force History & Archives Management Agency

This study analyzed the influences of organization identity establishment in the area of archival contents service to find ways to enhance the usability of records that are emphasized by the electronic record environments. According to Frank Upward, records are made up with physical entities, logical entities and conceptual constructs. The study stars from the viewpoint of records as ‘conceptual constructs’.
The time is Fourth Industrial Revolution. In the ear of fourth industrial revolution platform, open archives will be a key by collecting, preserving, curating and making people to utilize etc. Physical objects are easy to be replaced by robot technology but the symbolic signification of archives as ‘conceptual constructs’ depends on archivist’s ability.
Recently, conviction on objectivity and neutrality of records has broken down by the influence of the postmodernism that respects the relativity and diversity on archival science. Thus, this study tries to suggest the archivists are able not only to preserve records but also reinterprets the meaning of the record contents.
Based on such an active archivist’s role, this paper endeavors to examine how the audiovisual records content, ‘Air Force Story of Boramae Park’ influenced the memories of organization’s individual through analysing two theories: Records Continuum and Semiotics. In accordance with these theories, this study revealed the interaction of social and cultural memory in the group via ‘Air Force Story of Boramae Park’ and concluded it could compose collective memories and identity making the organization sustainable. Therefore this study is worthy in the way of putting the theories into practical area.
The paper also considers the other organizations could benchmark the cases of archival contents service of Republic of Korea Air Forces History & Archives Management Agency and more archival contents are actively made with the expectation of being the Renaissance-type of the Archivist.
