「오케스트라를 위한 ‘유기체 II’(2016)에 관한 분석」

본 논문은 2016년에 작곡된 김지은의 「오케스트라를 위한 ‘유기체 II’ (2016」의 작곡 배경 및 사용된 기법과 형식 등을 분석한 것이다.

‘유기체’란 많은 부분이 일정한 목적아래 통일, 조직되어 부분과 전체가 필연적 관계를 가지는 조직체라는 뜻으로 좁은 의미로는 생물체, 넓은 의미로는 우주를 뜻하기도 한다. 이러한 유기체의 뜻에서 아이디어를 얻어 작곡하게 되었으며 오케스트라는 무한한 뜻의 유기체를 표현하기 위한 가장 적절한 편성으로써 음악적인 요소의 작은 유기체들이 하나의 작품인 큰 유기체를 표현한다.

이 곡에서 사용되는 음악적 요소의 작은 유기체는 음(note), 음의높이(pitch), 리듬(rhythm), 셈여림(dynamic), 발음(attack), 연주기법(technique), 음색(tone color)이 있으며, 이러한 요소들은 2~5가지씩 조합되어 다양한 형태로 변화 발전한다.

전체 형식은 네 부분으로 A-B-C-D로 나눌 수 있다. 각 부분은 서로 다른 파트로 나누었지만 음소재나 음형, 셈여림, 주법 등의 유기체적 요소들로 인해 통일감을 얻을 수 있다. 크게 A와 B에서 현악파트는 상하 대칭구조를 이루고 있으며 A부분 안에서도 현악과 목관파트는 상하 대칭 구조를 이루고 있다. C와 D 또한 반음계스케일이라는 공통된 음소재를 사용하여 다른 음형과 음역이지만 유기적으로 연결된다.

이렇게 이 곡에서 사용되는 유기체적 요소들은 매개변수가 되어 다양하게 결합 되어 변화, 발전하며 하나의 곡(work)이라는 큰 의미의 유기체를 표현하며, 또 이곡이 어떤 유기적 관계를 가지고 있는지를 파악하여 논리적으로 분석하는 것이 본 논문의 궁극적인 목적이다.

「Analysis of Organism Ⅱ (2016) for Orchestra」

This article analyzes composition background, utilized techniques, and forms of「Organism Ⅱ for orchestra (2016) 」composed by Ji Eun Kim.

‘Organism’ in this article refers to organizations that are united and systemized under the common purpose, signifying each parts of the organism is in inevitable relationship with the entire organism. This does not only include literal living organisms in short term, but also refers to the universe in a broad term. This music was inspired from such meaning of organism and expresses the vast and infinite organism (the orchestra), through partial organisms (the musical factors).

The partial organisms (musical factors) used in this work are note, pitch, rhythm, dynamic, attack, technique, and tone color. These factors are developed into various forms, with two to five of them combined.

The entire form of the music is divided into four sections, A-B-C-D. Although divided into different sections, each part generates unity through material, figure, dynamic and technique. The string part in sections A and B are establishing up - down symmetric structure. The string and wind part in section A are forming up - down symmetric structure as well. Sections C and D are also united through common material, the half scale, despite the difference in figure and range.

The organic factors in this work serve as parameters expressing the meaning of a vast organism (the work), as they are combined and changed into various forms. It is also the eventual purpose of this article to understand and logically analyze the organic relationship in this work.
