This paper proposed SLAM based informational searchlight structure of multi-robot system for searching human victims. Th purpose of the study is to minimize the damage like human victimcs using intelligent robots from the disaster environment, such as gas leak or toxicant effusion in large buildings or underground.
The informational searchlight structure is composed of a informational searchlight robot to perform the building the map of the surroundings and a task robots to perform the searching human victims and other tasks like overcoming obstacles. The informational searchlight robot can acquired the robot positions in building map using SLAM, initial situation information, found victimcs location information, searching candidate regions information, etc, for operators and firefighters used to rescue human victims in remote central control center.
For verifying the feasibility of the proposed method, the experiment was carried out in the dark indoor with assuming diaster environment. The informational searchlight robot builds the map using the FastSLAM from the LIDAR sensor data attached to the robot. Next, searching candidate regions will be selected in the result map with searching the regions of task robots. IR image used obtaining searching the human victims. It recognized the human victims using image processing on the acquired IR image.
