Impact of Tourism Development and Community Tourism Development. Part III analyzes the current situation of tourism in Laos, Especially, in Luang Prabang town, the World heritage of Laos. Part IV is concerned to tourism development of Laos’s base on Luang Prabang’s tourism planning Development strategy. Part V made conclusions and recommendations with suggestions based on key informants’ interviews. Literatures reviewed in this research include resources data from books, journals,
magazines and internet websites and surveys from experienced and informants’ interviews.
For the empirical study; survey and key informants interview using a questionnaire of informants’ interview; 12 questions were used including open-ended questions on macrolevel tourism development and strategy in Luang Prabang Province Lao PDR. The key informants were head of commune, commune council committee, heads or deputy heads of villages and local community who are involved in tourism planning and management of the
Luang Prabang town as well as in their community. Laos’ government should revise some objectives and strategies such as improving infrastructure of transportation and information of tourism for Laos PDR to be more sufficient to attract tourists.
For more sustainable and competitive development; to improve more varieties of local products and souvenirs and to develop more various and special programs with activities and to advised events, and human resources of tourism service like local people skills and knowledge.
Moreover, to develop Lao PDR has become a center for tourism in Southeast Asia; sustainable tourism development in Luang Prabang town is more important because the tourist arrivals to Laos they also want come to visit Luang Pranbang Town the World
heritage of Laos. International co-operation is a good key to open tourism doors to other ountries. Promoting tourism investment by supporting policies, rules, regulations, and
capitals to development projects on infrastructure, transportation, telecommunication acilitate and enhance local product development, hotel and catering industry and improve ervice quality in all service industry.
The suggestion from this study are: to achieve the community participation for ustainable tourism development in Luang Prabang town, the respective authorities should upport the development in terms of physical infrastructure improvement of the area, training
and skill development in communication, improve other tourist facilities, and to establish a participatory and environmental friendly plan and policy for sustainable development of tourism. Sustainable tourism development should give greater priority to community participation in sustainable tourism development.
