The main purposes of this study was to investigate the relationship between recreationists'characteristics (e.g., recreational motivation and use patterns, etc.) and their resilience levels. To collect the data, 600 participants were sampled in forest recreational users and rock-climbers. The questionnaire was administrated to each respondents by trained assistants during the summer of 2012. Descriptive statistical analysis, factor analysis, t-tests and ANOVA were employed to analyze data.
The results of this study presented followings.
1. There were five factors in recreationists' motivation using recreational motivation scale developed by Shin and Yeon(1999).
2. The respondents of this study were composed of 55.7 percent of males and 44.3 percent of females. The average of age of the respondents were 40s. Most of them were university graduates.
3. There were significant differences in their Resilience Levels due to their forest use type (e.g., Recreational Forest, Healing Forest, Urban Forest and Rock Climbing).
4. There were significant differences in Resilience Levels due to their motivations. However, there were no significance differences in Resilience Levels due to their genders and ages.
6. There were significant differences in their Resilience Levels due to recreational use characteristics such as using time, level of engagement and previous experience, etc.
