진로탐색 프로그램을 통한 발달장애 중학생의 진로의사결정능력 연구 = The Effect of Career Exploration Program on Career Decision of Middle School Students with Developmental Disabilities

국문 초록 (Abstract)

성인이 되기 전 청소년기에 자신의 학업과 진로에 대해 어떠한 계획을 세우느냐에 따라 인생이 크게 달라질 수 있다. 선행연구에 따르면 교육현장에서 진로탐색 프로그램을 통해 학생들의 진로의식 성숙, 합리적인 의사결정능력과 진로결정수준 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다고 나타났다.
진로탐색이란 중학생 단계의 중요한 진로발달 과업의 한 과정으로 학생들이 자신에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 다양한 일과 직업의 세계를 탐색하고 직업 정보를 수집하고 분석하여 스스로 자신의 진로를 결정할 수 있는 것을 말한다. 이를 위해 자신에 대한 이해, 일과 직업세계의 이해, 자신의 미래 모습 탐색을 통하여 합리적으로 진로의사결정을 할 수 있도록 진로탐색 프로그램의 중재가 필요하다고 할 수 있다.
본 연구에서는 중학교 특수학급에 배치된 1학년 발달장애 학생 5명을 대상으로 진로탐색 프로그램이 그들의 진로의사결정능력에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구에서 사용한 연구도구는 진로탐색 프로그램과 발달장애 청소년 진로의사결정척도이다.
중재는 한 회기 당 45분씩, 일주일에 2회, 8주에 걸쳐 기초선 3회기, 중재 13회기를 실시하였고 유지검사 2회기를 실시하였다.
연구결과 분석은 매 회기 진로탐색 프로그램을 실시한 후 진로의사결정척도를 사용하여 측정하였으며, 측정 결과를 개인별로 질적 연구하였다.
본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 프로그램 중재 전 후 진로 의사결정 척도의 점수가 향상된 학생은 5명 중 2명이었으나, 질적인 측면으로 결과를 분석해 보면 모든 학생들의 자신에 대한 인식, 직업 세계 인식, 자신의 장래에 대해 인식하는 능력이 향상되었음을 알 수 있었다.
둘째, 진로의사결정능력 척도 결과를 살펴보면, 학생들의 점수는 장애 정도에 따라 차이가 있었다. 장애 정도에 따라 장기적이고 개별적인 특성에 적합한 진로탐색 프로그램을 실시한다면 발달장애 중학생의 진로의사결정능력의 향상을 더욱 기대해 볼 수 있을 것이다.
이상의 결과를 종합해 볼 때, 본 연구에서 사용된 진로탐색 프로그램은 발달장애 중학생들의 진로의사결정능력을 향상시키는데 긍정적인 효과가 있었음을 알 수 있다. 따라서 진로탐색프로그램을 직업 교과 이외에 전체 교과와 연계하고 또한 직업현장과 연계할 수 있도록 하여 학생들의 진로의사결정능력을 향상시킬 수 있도록 활용하여야 한다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of career exploration program on career decision of middle school students with developmental disabilities. This study was intended to help middle school students with developmental disabilities prepare for their future better by carrying out career exploration program
The subject of this study was five middle school students with developmental disabilities and they participated in a total of 18 career exploration program sessions. In order to see the effect of the program, the Career Decision Scale for Youth with Developmental Disabilities was administered at the end of each session.
The results of this study indicated that career decision of students with developmental disabilities was improved after they participated in the career exploration program. Also their concept on career was improved in the following areas : understanding of oneself, recognizing world of work, exploring one's future.
Based on the above results, there are some suggestions for future studies.
First, it is necessary to extend the subjects to more diverse age groups for generalizing this study results.
Second, it is required to develop career exploration programs which are appropriate to special education classes.
Third, if the special educators pay more attention on community-based career programs, careers decision of students with developmental disabilities will be much improved.
