빈곤이 일상적 스트레스를 통해 청소년의 비행에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of Poverty on the Juvenile delinquency hrough Daily Stress

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 빈곤이 일상적 스트레스를 통해 청소년의 비행에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 것으로, 빈곤이 청소년의 비행에 미치는 영향에 대한 일상적 스트레스의 매개효과를 밝히는 것이다.
본 연구의 목적을 위하여 설정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 빈곤청소년과 일반청소년의 일상적 스트레스와 비행에는 차이가 있는가?
둘째, 빈곤여부가 청소년의 비행에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가?
셋째, 빈곤이 일상적인 스트레스를 통해 청소년의 비행에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가?
위의 연구문제를 분석하기 위하여 한국청소년정책연구원에서 조사한 한국청소년패널조사데이터 중 4차, 5차년도에 모두 참여한 중학교 2학년 패널 2,886명의 자료를 활용하였다. 빈곤은 가구규모별 월 평균소득을 정부에서 제시하는 가구규모별 월 최저생계비로 나눈 욕구소득비로 측정하여 사용하였으며, 일상적 스트레스는 청소년이 처해있는 전반적인 상황을 통하여 분석하였다.
수집된 자료는 SPSS 19.0 프로그램을 사용하여 기술통계분석을 하였으며, AMOS 19.0 프로그램을 사용하여 매개효과 검증을 위해 구조방정식 모형분석을 실시하였다.
본 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 빈곤청소년과 일반청소년은 일상적 스트레스와 비행에 있어서 모두 유의미한 차이를 나타내었다.
둘째, 구조모형 분석을 한 결과, 빈곤은 청소년의 비행에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 빈곤이 청소년의 비행에 미치는 영향에서 일상적 스트레스의 매개효과가 통계적으로 유의미한 결과를 보였다.
본 연구의 결과를 종합하면 빈곤은 청소년 비행의 직접적인 원인이라기보다는 경제적 자원의 부족이 청소년의 일상적 스트레스 발생을 높이고, 이러한 스트레스는 청소년으로 하여금 비행을 저지르게 하는데 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
따라서 빈곤가정에서의 청소년의 일상적 스트레스의 발생을 감소시킬 수 있는 방안을 마련하여, 빈곤청소년의 비행을 예방할 수 있어야 함을 시사하고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to investigate effects of poverty on juvenile delinquency through daily stress and to show intermediate effects between these circumstances.
Research questions to achieve the purpose of this study are the followings.
First, how do daily stress and juvenile delinquency differ between poor and non-poor adolescent?
Second, does the poverty affect juvenile delinquency?
Third, do daily stress mediate the impact of poverty on the juvenile delinquency?
In order to answer the above research questions, I used longitudinal data of the KYPS(Korea Youth Panel Survey) was the data of 4th and 5th year.
A descriptive analysis using SPSS 19.0 were conducted, and structural equation model analysis was performed using AMOS 19.0 to validate the mediating effects of the research model.
Results of this study can be summarized as follows.
First, poor adolescent and non-poor adolescent showed significant differences for daily stress and juvenile delinquency.
Second, the results of the structural model analysis revealed that the poverty did not directly affect juvenile delinquency.
Third, the mediating effects of daily stress were proved. That is, the poverty indirectly affects the juvenile delinquency through daily stress.
This study found that a low economic level increases the occurrence of adolescent's daily stress rather than directly affects juvenile delinquency, therefore adversely affects the juvenile delinquency as a result.
Therefore, this study suggest that prevent juvenile delinquency of poor adolescent by makings plans to decrease the occurrence of adolescent's daily stress of poor households.
