스토리텔링 기법을 통한 대학기록관의 전시 개발방안

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 대학기록관의 보다 적극적인 모습으로서 기록관이 소장하고 있는 기록물의 내용과 가치를 다양한 이용자들에게 전달하기에 가장 효과적이라고 볼 수 있는 ‘전시’에 대한 연구이다. 기록물의 전시에 대한 구체적인 방법으로, 기록물이 담고 있는 가치를 최대한 잘 드러내서 이용자들에게 효과적으로 전달이 될 수 있게 하는 ‘이야기 하는 전시’의 개발을 통한 대학기록관의 이용활성화를 이끌어내는 것을 목적으로 최근 다양한 영역에서 화두가 되고 있는 스토리텔링기법을 적용하여 연구하였다.

A Study on Exhibition Development of University Archives by Storytelling Techniques

This study is dealing with 'exhibition' of university archives, which is more active role of them and the most effective way to deliver the contents and value of records belonging to archives.
In connection with specific method for exhibition of records, I applied storytelling techniques -becoming recent hot topic of various fields- to the research with the purpose of drawing utilization of the use of university archives through developing 'Telling exhibition' which makes the value of records revealed as well as possible and effectively delivered to users.
Accordingly, I studied about the meanings and need of exhibition in university archives looking out the meanings and role of university archives within university and having a critical mind from it. Afterwards, I determined that for these exhibiting activities to be conducted more effectively, a new way like storytelling techniques is needed. For this, I studied about the concept and characteristics of storytelling techniques and effect of exhibition applying them.
Next, I analyzed cases of exhibiting activity through storytelling techniques. United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and Jeju April 3rd Peace Park which are 'special subject repositories' managing collective memory were selected as the cases. Also, I drew lessons to apply to exhibition of university archives through these cases.
Afterwards, I suggested ways to develop exhibition by storytelling techniques in university archives. First of all, I proposed specific methods for composing contents and space of exhibition. Later, to apply to historical archives of HUFS, after analyzing history and distinct characteristics of Hankook University of Foreign Studies and figuring out the status of historical archives of HUFS, I analyzed application cases of
historical archives of HUFS. In addition, I suggested operation plan for more effective exhibition.
Currently, university archives in Korea are putting all of their establishing, manpower and infrastructure in progress. On this, this study showed that utilization of potential users can be created by exhibition through storytelling techniques, more distinguishing exhibition.
Also, these activities by university which try to figure out functions and roles of archives will lead to support for work of university archives in the future. Eventually, it can be expected that university members will be able to find the history and identity of the university by the use of these records.
