한국남자 대학생들의 선호색과 퍼스널컬러 진단에 관한 연구 = (A) Study of Colors Prefered by Korean Male College Students and Personal Colors Diagnosis

국문 초록 (Abstract)

최근 한국남성들의 경우 예전과 달리 용모, 복장, 헤어스타일에 큰 관심을 보이고 있다. 이러한 현상은 급변하는 현대사회에서, 처음 사람을 대할 때 판단하게 되는 외모를 자신에게 어울리게 꾸며, 사회적 인정과 개인적 자신감을 높이고자 하기 때문이다. 타고난 신체색상의 유형은 변하지 않는 것이 특징이나 그 유형안에서의 색상이나 톤은 변형될 수 있다.
본 연구의 목적은 한국 대학생들의 선호색을 알아보고, 한국 20대 남성에게 어울리는 퍼스널컬러를 찾기 위한 I-Color 진단 프로그램을 마련하는데있다. 이를 위해 우선 선호색과 퍼스널컬러의 개념에 대해서 알아보고 1차조사로 한국 대학생들의 선호색, 싫어하는 색, 어울리는 색, 피부색, 의상색을 선택할 때의 판단기준, 어울리는 의상색을 조사하고, 2차 조사로 본 연구를 위해 개발한 I-Color 진단 프로그램을 이용하여 피험자를 진단하였다. 그 연구결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 한국 남,녀대학생들이 가장 선호하는 색상은 Purple Blue, 톤은 남학생들은 bright톤, 여학생들은 vivid톤이었고 색상별 톤은 남학생들은 Purple Blue의 vivid톤이었으며 여학생들은 Red의 vivid톤이었다. 가장 싫어하는 색상은 남,녀 모두 Yellow이고 톤은 vivid톤, 색상별 톤은 남학생들은 Yellow의 vivid톤, 여학생들은 Yellow Red의 vivid톤이었다.
둘째, 한국 남,녀대학생들이 가장 자신에게 어울린다고 생각하는 색상은 남학생들은 Purple Blue이고, 여학생들은 Red이고, 톤은 남,녀 모두 vivid톤이었다. 색상별 톤은 남,녀 모두 Purple Blue의 vivid톤이었다. 피부색은 남,녀대학생 모두 하얀빛 + 노란빛이 가장 많았고, 의상색을 선택할 때의 판단기준으로는 좋아하는 색으로 결정한다는 답변이 가장 많았다. 또한 자신에게가장 어울린다고 생각하는 의상색은 남,녀대학생 모두 검정계열이었다.
셋째, 피험자 남학생 101명을 대상으로 비피험자 남,녀학생 200명이 vivid,deep, bright, dark, light, pale톤으로 선정한 (6개의 톤은 1차조사 분석결과의 Best톤들과 Worst톤들로 선정하였다.) I-Color 진단 프로그램을 이용하여 진단한 결과 Best색상은 Purple Blue, Worst색상은 Yellow이고 Best톤은 deep톤, Worst톤은 vivid톤이었다. 피험자 101명중 자신의 피부색 조사에 성실히 답변한 50명을 선정하여 I-Color 진단 프로그램으로 분석한 결과와 피부색을 대조해보니 가장 많이 나온 것은, Best가 하얀빛 + 노란빛 피부의 dark톤이고, Worst는 검은빛 + 붉은빛 피부의 vivid톤으로 나왔다.
현재 퍼스널컬러는 진단천을 직접 이용한 1:1 시스템이 주를 이루고 있다.
본 연구에서는 기존 연구에서 사용한 진단시스템의 주관적인 진단방법의 단점을 개선하여 객관적인 진단방법을 제시하였다는데 그 의의가 있다고 본다. 또한 본 연구결과는 선호색과 자신에게 안 어울리는 색을 발견하는 것이 퍼스널컬러에서 중요하다고 판단되며 이에 대한 추가적인 연구가 요구된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

More and more Korean men are concerned about their appearances, clothes, and hair styles in these days. This may be because people want to improve their self confidence and social acknowledgement through the appearance. In today's fast-changing society, people are
constantly judged by their first impressions and the way they style for themselves to best suit their physical appearances. Physically born skin color can not be changed; however, the color and the tone can be adjusted.
The purpose of this study is to find personal colors of Korean men in heir 20s by using I-Color diagnosis program. Prior to the main study, I investigated the notion of personal color and made a survey of most preferred colors, least preferred colors, matching colors, and clothes colors of Korean college students. Then as a main study, I analysed the personal color for subjects by using I-Color
diagnosis program which is specially designed for this study. The results of the study were as follow:
First, the most preferred color of Korean male and female college students was Purple Blue. The most preferred color tone of male students was bright tone, and vivid tone for female students. In terms of color-tone combination context, male students preferred vivid tone of Purple Blue, and female students preferred vivid tone of Red. The least preferred color of the students was Yellow and the least preferred color tone was vivid tone. In terms of color-tone combination context, male students disliked vivid tone of Yellow and female students disliked vivid tone of Red.
Second, Korean college students designated Purple Blue as their best matching color. Male students thought Purple Blue matched them the best whereas female students thought Red matched them the best. In terms of color tone, both male and female students thought vivid tone matched them the best. In terms of color-tone combination context, both male and female students thought vivid tone of Purple Blue best suited them. Skin colors of male and female college students are mostly White + Yellow. The majority of the students answered that they often choose their favorite colors when choosing colors for their clothes. Furthermore,
most students thought color black best suited them for clothes colors.
Third, as a result of I-Color diagnosis program on 101 male subjects done by 200 male and female students, the best color proved to be Purple Blue. The worst color was Yellow, the best tone was deep tone, and the worst tone was vivid tone. As a result of I-Color diagnosis program on 50 students who gave thoughtful answers on their skin color survey out of 101 subjects, the best matching color was dark tone for white + yellow skin colors and the worst matching color was vivid tone for black + red skin colors.
At present, the most commonly used method for personal color analysis is one-to-one system using test cloths. This study is significant because I have suggested more objective, improved diagnostic method for personal color analysis unlike the subjective diagnostic method used in the prior studies. In addition, the results from the study support the notion that it is important to find ones' preferred color and non-matching color in personal color analysis. Hence, I believe that there should be further research on this issue.
