Recently it comes bigger that Design is important in Marketing that design is the most distinctive point at competition of development of new products. But it should make satisfied not only 'Visual' things that prepared to equip all the functions itself. Design becomes good design when it helps people live in the better life.
Our life is suffered from a flood of millions of new products and advertisements with no concern of food, clothing and shelter Nowadays. Moreover, it becomes more difficult to make a difference between products that let them lead with various uses and engineering skills due to development of Technology and extension of Information. Many products are approached to the age of puberty and the target market to saturation. It is the most important to arrange the new policy for set up a difference and developing of product's worth in this situation. When we go to the supermarket, we are in agony to choose a thing of many products on a stand. We have to resist temptation in front of stands and be the focus of another products even though we choose one, The thing we choose will be the thing we heard from other people or we already used before.
We can see the same shaped apartments and the same clothed people, the same colored cars in a road.
The famous companies, Swatch, Coca Cola, Sony and Philips have Design power which have individuality. They achieve the difference between other products and brands through Design Management. Design becomes the most important thing for improving National and corporate power and improving the quality of life.
Many of big global companies use Design strategically to improve their Brand Worth and Brand Power. The purpose of Design Management is emphasize the Brand Image and Brand Identity. The better Brand Identity and Brand Image, the more revenue and businesses. When competitors have almost same products and prices, guests prefer to use the company products have better Brand Identity and Brand Image. And when competitors have almost same products and prices, guests prefer to use the company products have better Visual Identity Design. This means Corporate Future could be handled by Design Management.
Above the importance of Design Management is not only for product industry, but also for the Hotel and tourism industry. I focused on the Hotel industry that comparison with two hotels other brand names to study on Visual Identity Design Strategy to settle Brand Identity.
Hotel Industry, Hospitality Industry is not only a place to rest and sleep when traveling any more. It has influenced to social economy and culture until today that the Hotel industry is the most valuable thing in the capitalism, the most important business in the hospitality industry.
Hotel industry is a part of the most industries for globalization into the world. It had been developed more and bigger, and will keep being developed from now on. One expert said, hotel and hospitality industry will be the biggest industry in the world in 10 years so that all of countries focus on developing this industry themselves.
This time, hotel has to promote Visual Identity Design to improve the Brand Identity as the strategy of marketing such as other companies.
Hotels have to make up Visual Identity Design to sell their own image. Visual Identity Design is the hotel's culture and life style, Service, Facilities, Food, hotels recreate their Visual Identity Design.
Belows are what I've studies for this thesis.
1. I tried to compare and analyze the two different hotel chain's brands, Marriott international and Accor hotels. It changed on Nov. 5th 2006 from Busan Marriott Hotel to Novotel Ambassador Busan so that I think it could be the best objectives to prepare and analyze each other that there are the same facilities and services and employees remained.
2. I focuses to find out two hotel's Corporate Identity firstly. Marriott Hotels, Resorts and Suites and Novotel Ambassador Hotel's Corporate Identity and Market Positioning is absolutely different. Marriott's target audience and market positioning is much higher than Novotel. Novotel is marketed on the mid-low price market but Marriott is marketed on the mid-high price market.
3. Secondly, I analyzed and discussed all the First Class hotels in Haeundae area, Busan, focused on their Corporate Identity and Visual Identity Design. And I tried to get information of their Marketing Positioning Strategies too.
4. Thirdly, I analyzed Visual Identity Design and Marketing Positioning Strategies of both Busan Marriott Hotel and Novotel ambassador Busan for improving corporate identity to the market.
5. Fourthly, I found out the conclusions of above analysis, and I tried to make out Nvotel Ambassador Busan's new Visual Identity Design and Market Positioning to improve its Corporate Identity to the Busan, especially Haeundae Market.
Summarized conclusion is as following:
1. It could improve Brand Value and quality by appealing Corporate Identity through development of Visual Identity Design and establishment of Matket Positioning.
2. It could be expanded out latent purchasing power by developing unique area culture around surroundings where the hotel located through establishment of Condept of Visual Identity Design.
3. It could be helpful to the country economy not only to build up Korean traditional and Image to the world, but also to improve the competitive power in the market to develop Corporate Identity, Hotel's personality through Visual Identity Design.
4. It could be developed to collaborate with CEOs to present the way of Customer focused Visual Identity Design by analyzing many kinds of comparisons and examples. CEOs have to hire more professional and expert designers as regular associates to focus the development of Visual Identity Design.
5. It could offer culture services which can make customers be satisfied with to make up various languages and images by applying coordinated public medias through scholastic professional education in University. Visual Identity Design Development in the Hotel industry has to be spread the Design study fields more as a creative future art and design field.
Hotel is a life style. Hotel sells the Image. People hope to visit hotelsthat they want to experience their culture and life style, Brands. Many hotels in the world currently offer the new life style. And there is ‘Design Hotels’ such as ‘W Hotel Seoul’ and ‘Hyatt Hotel Tokyo’. People get bored in existing hotels so placed interests to the new design hotels.
Hotels should have their own Corporate Identity and Visual Identity to get more latent guests and revenue directly in the future. Hotels have got acknowledge of importance of Corporate Identity and develop their Visual Identity Design in the various way, but almost all of Korean hotels have not.
Many of hotels include international chain hotels and our Korean hotels should develop Visual Identity Design as the direct Marketing strategy for settle the Corporate Identity to the customers. Therefore, they have to try their best to find out Corporate Identity and Marketing Plan, Positioning Strategy firstly, to make out their own culture and life style.
