자녀의 부정적 정서에 대한 부모반응과 자녀의 정서조절 방략의 관계 : 자녀의 정서인식을 매개로 = Relation between parental reactions to child's negative emotions and child's emotion regulation : the mediating role of emotional clarity

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 자녀의 부정적 정서에 대한 부모의 반응방식이 자녀의 정서조절 방략의 개인차(인지적 재해석, 표현의 억제 방략)에 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고, 부모의 반응이 자녀의 정서조절 방략에 영향을 미치는 기제를 살펴보기 위해, 이 둘 간의 관계를 자녀의 정서인식이 매개하는지 알아보는 것이다. 본 연구는 정서조절의 내적과정의 측면에 초점을 두었고, 개인이 시도하는 정서조절 방략이 정서사회화 과정에서 부모의 정서관련 사회화행동에 의해 어떻게 발달하는지 살펴보았다. 연구대상은 18세 이상의 학부생 및 대학원생 507이었으며, 참가자들은 자녀의 부정적 정서에 대한 부모의 반응유형(회고형), 정서조절, 정서인식 질문지에 응답하였다. 또한 자료 분석을 위해 상관분석 및 회귀분석을 실시하였다.
본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자녀의 부정적 정서에 대한 부모의 반응유형이 자녀의 정서조절 방략에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 구체적으로는, 부모의 지지적 반응은 자녀의 재해석 방략에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤고, 부모의 비지지적 반응은 자녀의 억제 방략에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 자녀의 부정적 정서에 대한 부모의 반응유형과 자녀의 정서조절 방략의 관계를 자녀의 정서인식이 매개하였다. 구체적으로는, 부모의 지지적 반응과 자녀의 재해석 방략의 관계를 자녀의 정서인식이 매개하였고, 부모의 비지지적 반응과 자녀의 억제 방략의 관계를 자녀의 정서인식이 매개하였다.
본 연구는 이러한 결과를 통해, 부모의 정서관련 사회화 행동변인이 자녀의 정서조절 방식에 영향을 미치는 가능한 하나의 기제를 확인하였다, 그리고 그 과정에서 자녀의 정서인식이 매개역할을 할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 끝으로 본 연구의 함의와 제한점 및 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study is to identify that parental reactions to child's negative emotions have effect on child's emotion regulation strategy(cognitive reappraisal, expressive suppression ), and to identify mediating effect of child's emotional clarity on the relation between parental reactions to child's negative emotions and child's emotion regulation strategies. The present study has focused on mental(inner) process of regulation, and investigate how parental emotion-related socialization behavior affect development of individual emotion regulation stategy in socialization of emotion process model. For this, 508 graduate and undergraduate students were asked to complete Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, Coping with Children's Negative Emotions Scale(retrospective version), Trait Meta-Mood Scale.
The results of this study are as follow: First, parental reactions to child's negative emotions significantly affect child's emotion regulation strategy. Specifically, parental supportive reactions significantly affect child's reappraisal strategy, and parental nonsupportive reactions significantly affect child's suppression strategy. Second, a mediating effect of child's emotional clarity on the relationship between parental reactions to child's negative emotions and child's emotion regulation strategies were identified. Specifically, the mediating effect of child's emotional clarity on the relationships between parental supportive reactions and child's reappraisal strategies were identified. And the mediating effect of child's emotional clarity was also identified on the relationships between parental nonsupportive reactions and child's suppression strategy.
Finally, implications and limitations of this study are discussed.
