Recently, multiuser multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) system has been focused on wireless communication system since it offers higher spectral efficiency over limited bandwidth. Even though the theoretical bound of both downlink and uplink scenarios has been investigated in the literature, most of further research has been focused on downlink scenarios. However, the data demand for uplink MIMO channel is expected to be increased in the next generation communication system.With this background, it is required to research the uplink multiuser MIMO system for the implementation of practical system and the system performance needs to be analyzed.In this thesis, mulituser uplink MIMO/FDD system is assumed. Considering the schemes which are applicable to the limited rate of feedback channel, the performance of antenna selection and transmit beamforming scheme are compared.The brief summary of the main results is as follows. First, it is shown that sum rate of transmit beamforming is not always better than antenna selection scheme when feedback rate is limited so that its quantized beamweights are getting mismatched with multiuser MIMO channel. Second, we show that which scheme offers better sum rate for the given system parameters and suggest an adaptive mode selection criterion between antenna selection and transmit beamforming scheme according to the various numbers of transmit antennas and available feedback bits.
