The North Korean youth defectors have been increased rapidly in recent five years and there have been many social problems ever since. Many studies for the adjustment of the North Korean youth defectors have been proceeded and, according to these studies, 'education' is referred. As the result of these studies, the specialized school for the North Korean youth defectors was established as an institutional device for the adjustment.
The researcher argue the question for this institutional device needs critical positions of teacher and proposed the support program for them. So the researcher insist that to minimize the educational problems of the North Korean youth defectors, the teachers' role is very important.
The researcher used the qualitative research method such as participant observation and in-depth interviews for this study. And also referred to records to complement this study.
As a result of this study the researcher suggests the training program for the teachers of North Korean youth defectors in personal and legalistic institutional ways ad follows.
First, the teachers should have sense of duty and generosity to make faithful relationship with the North Korean youth defectors. For this the teacher should make efforts constantly. Second, the teachers should have diverse and professional knowledge. They should make effort to collect the professional knowledge about North Korea, North Korean youth defectors and south Korean social problems. Third, the existing activists should be reeducated and financially supported to improve their stability. Existing activists should maintain their roles because they already constructed the faithful relationship with the North Korean youth defectors. Forth, the present school teachers and the students of the related subject should enhance their participation with regard to this issue. They could be trained as professional teachers for the North Korean youth defectors if they get sufficient incentives. Fifth, the former North Korean youth defectors should be included to this role of educators. They had experienced similar situations so they could be professional if they got reeducated. And this reeducation is needed in no time.
