警察의 犯罪被害者 保護에 관한 硏究 : 强力犯罪 를 被害者를 中心으로

Until recently, crime victims have been recognized as only 'human evidence' during police investigation stage, because police have emphasized the arrest of criminals rather than protection of crime victims.
However, the condition of criminal justice system including laws and consciousness of societies, is changing rapidly. And Korean police are faced with the need of paradigm conversion of police activities.
Protection of human rights and respect to individual personality in a democratic society, should be considered more important than any other. In this point of view, this study suggests that police make effective victim protection policies and education program in order to achieve public confidence from citizen.
The contents of this study are as follows.
Chapter 1 discusses the purpose, the scope, and the methodology of this study.
Chapter 2 examines the theoretical background of this study, such as the role of police in crime victim protection and some cases of foreign countries.
Chapter 3 discusses analysis of the actual conditions about crime victim protection and the related problems through survey method.
Chapter 4 suggests the strengthening strategies for crime victim protection of Korean Police.
Chapter 5, the conclusion mentions the affirmative direction of crime victim protection of police.
The main point of this study is as follows.
It is very important that Korean police make crime victim protection policy, such as notification to crime victim, prevention of additional victimization during investigation, protection from danger, psychological care and the cooperation with related groups. Devotion for crime victims will promote the capability of police investigation in the result.
