Rejection sensitivity is the disposition that anxiously or angrily expect, readily perceive and overreact to social rejection. The primary purpose of this study was basic exploration for development of Korean Children' Rejection sensitivity Questionnaire. This paper consists of 3 Survey. Data were gathered form 5th to 6th graders in elementary school. Survey 1 examined that rejection situations of Children' Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire(CRSQ) applied to Korean children. Results showed that the most children would not expect rejection outcome in some rejection situation of CRSQ. Also Our children reported that they would feel despondency as well as anxiety and angry. Whereas American children reported anxious or angry. So, It is necessary to develop Korean children Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire. In Survey 2. Korean children were interviewed to explore rejection situations, and the 13 rejection situations were obtained. In survey 3, explored appropriateness of 25 preliminary rejection situations that consist of 13 rejection situations developed for survey 2 and 12 rejection situations of CRSQ. The 12 rejection situations were selected among the 25 rejection situations that discriminated high rejection sensitivity group from low rejection sensitivity group in feeling(anxiety, angry, depression) and expectation. In addition, The relation between rejection sensitivity in the 12 rejection situations and rejection experience from parents, teacher, and friends was found.
Findings showed that Rejection sensitivity in 12 rejection situations was significantly correlated in rejection experience from social relation object. I suggest that 12 rejection situations is appropriate ofr measurement of Korean children' rejection sensitivity.
