This study set out to investigate when Dosangugok was established by whom and in what process and also the creation backgrounds of Dosangugk poems intensively written in the form of rhyme-borrowing poems. The findings were summarized as follows: It was Lee Ya-sun that first established Dosangugk in 1800, and its scope covered from Wolcheongok to Dansagok. Following him, Lee Yi-sun independently established Dosangugok between 1818 and 1820, expanding the scope from Woonamgok to Cheongryangrok. Later, Lee Ya-sun accepted what Lee Yi-sun established, excluded Biamgok, and added Odamgok, thus establishing Dosangugok for the second round. Dosang- ugok established by Lee Ya-sun for the second time was widely accepted. In 1800, Lee Ya-sun first established Dosangugok and wrote a Dosangugok poem. He showed it to his close friend Jo Sul-do and asked a rhyme-borrowing poem from him. Jo wrote a rhyme-borrowing poem in 1801, and so did Jo Seong-bok under his guidance. Later, Geum Si-sul under the instruction of Lee Ya-sun and Choi Seung-woo living in the ancestral burial ground also wrote rhyme-borrowing poems before 1814. Then Lee Yi-sun independently established Dosangugok and wrote Dosangugok poems from 1818 to 1820, after when he no longer wrote rhyme-borrowing poems. Lee Ya-sun then established Dosangugok for the second time and wrote Dosangugok before April, 1823, when he went to Yangdong, Gyeongju asked a rhyme-borrowing poem from Lee Jeong-gi and others. He asked more people to write a rhyme-borrowing poem until he passed away in 1831, thus contributing to the creation of more than ten rhyme-borrowing poems. Later generations further created more rhyme-borrowing poems. With that background, there was an intensive creation of ten Dosangugok poems in the former half of the 19th century.
