18세기 老論系(노론계) 知識人(지식인)의 友情論(우정론) = The Discourse of Friendship in the 18th Century Joseon dynasty

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 朝鮮後期 友情論의 국내적 연원과 그 역사적 맥락을 추적하는 데 주력하였다. 우정론에 대한 그간의 연구는 주로 ‘近代性’이라든가 ‘西學’과의 연관에 주목하였으므로, 조선후기라는 시공간 속에서 우정론이 생성되고 발전된 史的 推移에 대해서는 분석이 미진하였다. 이에 본고는 우정론 대두의 역사적 배경을 검토하여 왜 이 시기에 이르러 유달리 우정이 시대적 화두가 되고 담론화되었는가를 탐색하였다. 다음으로는 李麟祥, 任敬周, 洪樂純의 우정론을 고찰하여 18세기 노론계 지식인을 중심으로 우도에 대한 투철한 사유와 정밀한 논리화가 이루어졌음을 규명하였다. 나아가 그들의 우정론이 燕巖 朴趾源에게 계승된 측면을 짚어봄으로써, 박지원의 우정론이 초역사적으로 돌출되어 나타난 것이 아니라 조선후기 우정론의 제성과를 성실히 종합함으로써 이룩된 것임을 논구하였다.

Previous studies on the discourses of friendship in late Joseon Dynasty mainly focused on ‘modernity’ or relation to ‘Western learning’, and not enough analyses have been made in examining the historical genesis and development of friendship discourse in the context of late Joseon Dynasty. This study reviewed the historical background of the rise of discourses of friendship to examine the reason for the upsurge of interest in friendship during this period. The study traced the process of development of discourses of friendship, by examining how Lee In-sang, Im Gyeong-ju, and Hong Nak-sun viewed friendship, and how Park Ji-won received and developed their thoughts. The study is expected to reveal the historical aspect of the origin and evolution of discourses of friendship in late Joseon Dynasty.
