『백상루기(百祥樓記)』평비(評批)의 특징 고찰 = A Study on the features of the commentaries in BaekSangnugi

BaekSangnugi百祥樓記is one of the three dramas written in classical Chinese during the late Chosun dynasty. And it is the only drama that contains commentaries. Thus it is important to study on the features derived from the fact that it contains commentaries. First of all, we have to establish who is the commentator as well as who is the author of the original story. Although on the preface of the first chapter, bemused by the beauty?艶and the total critic摠批of it, Pae-wija佩韋子seems to be the commentator of this book, by carefully reading the preface of the first chapter and comparing it with Jinshengtan金 聖嘆`s preface on Xixiangji西廂記, we come to the conclusion that the author of BaekSangnugi himself was also the commentator of it. And it shows that the author accepted Xixiangji with Jinshengtan`s commentaries as a whole unified piece. In the commentaries of BaekSangnugi, there are many ethical assesment on the main character`s behavior, and they are all negative judgement. Considering that the author himself made the commentaries on his own story, it is very interesting aspect. It seems that to slander his own story was the one of the author`s writing strategy to block out other`s hard blame on him in advance. Lastly, we can find quite many elements in the commentaries of BaekSangnugi which is very similar to the features found in Jinshengtan`s commentaries on Xixiangji. In addition to imitating the format of the commentaries, the high praise on the works, the emphasis on the kaleidoscope of writing, frequent exposing of subjective appreciation, the instructive advice for the readers named precious talented men all around the world普天下錦繡才子, the emphasis on the lifelike description of characters and the structure of the story are the main features of the commentaries of BaekSangnugi affected by Jinshengtan`s commentaries on Xixiangji. These features are obvious evidences that shows that the author of BaekSangnugi was greatly affected by Jinshengtan`s commentaries on Xixiangji.
