유아의 기질과 가정환경 및 유아의 부적응행동 간의 관계: 연변 조선족과 한국 유아의 비교연구 = Children's Temperament and Home Environment in Relation to Behavior Problems: A Comparative Study of Korean-Chinese and Korean Children

국문 초록 (Abstract)

같은 민족이지만 다른 국가체계에 살고 있는 527명의 연변 조선족과 한국의 유아를 대상으로 유아의 기질, 가정환경 그리고 부적응행동 간의 상관과 영향력을 비교하였다. 조선족 부모들은 한국의 부모들에 비해 자녀가 보다 더 활기차며, 부정적 정서를 더 많이 표출하고, 주의 통제 능력도 높은 것으로 평가하였으나, 회귀분석 결과 유아의 부정적 정서는 양국 유아의 부적응행동을 예측해 주는 가장 중요한 공통적인 변수로 나타나 민족간 공통성과 환경에 따른 영향을 모두 보여주었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study investigates children's temperament as a person characteristic, home environment as a proximal process, and culture as a context in relation to children's behavior problems(anxiety/depression, attention problem, and aggression). Questionnaires were distributed to 527 mothers of three to five-year-old Korean-Chinese children in Yanbian, China and to Korean children in Ulsan, Korea. Significant mean differences were found in 3 temperament scales (surgency, negative affection, effortful control) across cultures. The results reveal significant but moderately low correlations(r=-.20~.39) between children's temperament, home environment, and children's behavior problems. Children's temperaments, specifically negative affection, was the most significant common variable to explain children's behavior problems in both cultures.
