      The plays of Oh Tae-seok have the property of sacrifice ritual considering the frequent deaths of the characters. This article argues that the sacrifice ritual is raised in order to purify the human emotion of fear in the face of absurdity. The absurdity in the recognition of history and the absurdity in the human destiny and the absurdity in the real society emerge in the works Oh Tae-seok. Men cannot know the authenticity of historical facts and cannot reach the real recognition in reality either. In addition, the destiny of human
      beings is not operated as intended but operated by chance. As well as what's happening in the real world itself is full of absurdities. Oh Tae-seok clearly presents these absurdities in his plays and resolves the horrors of the audience in the face of absurdity by the sacrifice ritual.
