    The Purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between firefighting performance and physical fitness. A sample of 30 Korean firefighters was participated in this study. Physical fitness tests that include height, weight, body fat percent, waist-hip ratio (WHR), body mass index (BMI), progressive aerobic cardiovascular endurance run (PACER), grip strength, back strength, stand broad jump, sit up, sit and reach were administrated. And firefighting performance tests that include hose advance, forcible entry, hoist climb, victim rescue, stair climb were administrated. For the purpose, the data from these tests were analyzed using Person`s product moment correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression. Significant negative correlations between firefighting performance test time and weight varying from -.420 to -.511, BMI varying from -.383 to -.450, PACER varying from r=-.379 to r=-.624, grip strength varying from r=-.378 to r=-.608. back strength varying from r=-.395 to r=-.620, sit and reach (r=-.449) were found. In result of stepwise multiple regression, the significant physical fitness factors that effect firefighting performance were weight, BMI, cardiovascular endurance, absolute strength, power and flexibility.
