청소년기 비행행동과 부모양육행동간의 상호인과적 관계에 대한 종단연구 = Longitudinal Analysis on the Relationship Between Parenting Behaviors and Delinquent Behaviors in Adolescence

The aim of this study was to examine the reciprocal relationships between parenting behaviors and delinquent behaviors in adolescence. Five waves of data in the Korea Youth Panel Survey(KYPS) were used to analyze the longitudinal associations between parenting and delinquent behaviors. Results, based on multivariate autoregressive cross-lagged modeling, dicated that parental monitoring had consistently significant effects on smoking behaviors during adolescence, but not vice versa. For girls, statistically significant reciprocal influence existed between parenting behaviors and delinquent behaviors in early adolescence, but not in late adolescence. For boys, parental monitoring and attachment had no effects on delinquent behaviors during adolescence and vice versa. In addition, parenting monitoring operated indirectly through smoking behaviors to delinquent behaviors in both groups. Results from multi-group analyses revealed that adolescents` gender had a different effect on theses associations. Practice and policy implications as well as further research topic were discussed in the lights of searching for highly effective directions and components of programs regarding preventing adolescents` delinquent behaviors.
