중ㆍ일 양국의 조어도열도 영유권분쟁과 이어도문제 = A Logical Study on the Diaoyu Islands Sovereignty in the Two Countries, China and Japan and Ieo Island

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The effective governance of the Diaoyu Islands are Japanese. Now the dispute over the Diaoyu Islands located in the East China Sea region is a compelling issue affecting Sino-Japanese relations. The dispute refers to the claims over ownership of a set of islets known as Senkaku in Japanese and Diaoyu in Chinese. The a priori importance of this area lies within both nations` interests towards the entitlements provided by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea to a state`s territorial waters and the potential resources richness of the area. However, there are three main dimensions at interplay within the dispute making the reach of an agreement difficult. These refer to rising nationalistic sentiments, growing energy security concerns, and geostrategic interests. The interrelated issues posed by these areas and the current direction of the regional political environment suggest that conflict over the area is a likely outcome if further measures are not taken to address the problem. As a result, Japan should consider the following recommendations in order to avoid further frictions, improve bilateral relations with China and maintain stability in the region. And Ieo Island issue will be very significant problem between china and korea. The policy issues about bilateral territorial dispute will be required the research and analysis as like how to conjunction with the associated countries with the conflict areas, and how to function in a new light.
